Dubai: Team India made a strong start in the Champions Trophy 2025 with a convincing six-wicket win over Bangladesh in Dubai.

Shubman Gill led the charge with an unbeaten 101, showcasing his class with a well-paced century.

KL Rahul (41*) and Rohit Sharma (41) provided valuable support in the successful chase.

Bangladesh, batting first, posted a total of 229 runs.

Towhid Hridoy played a brilliant innings, scoring a century (100), while Zakir Ali contributed 68 runs.

Despite their efforts, Bangladesh struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack.

Mohammed Shami was the standout bowler, claiming five wickets.

Harshit Rana impressed with three wickets, while Axar Patel chipped in with two.

Chasing 229, India got off to a steady start with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill adding 69 runs for the opening wicket.

Rohit played a fluent knock of 41 before getting dismissed. Virat Kohli (22), Shreyas Iyer (15), and Axar Patel (8) could not make significant contributions, but Gill held his ground.

He reached his century in style, anchoring the innings with precision.

Rahul provided steady support at the other end, ensuring India’s chase remained on track.

India reached the target in 46.3 overs, finishing at 230/4.

Bangladesh bowlers had little success, with Rishad Hossain picking up two wickets, while Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman claimed one each.

This victory gives India a strong start in the tournament, boosting their confidence for upcoming matches.

With Gill in top form and the bowlers delivering exceptional performances, India looks well-prepared for the challenges ahead.
