INTERNATIONAL: Gaza Toll Surpasses 50,000 Amid Intensifying Conflict
Heavy Casualties in Israel-Hamas War
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in a staggering 50,000 Palestinian deaths, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Additionally, more than 113,000 people have sustained injuries since the war began. The violence reignited after the recent ceasefire ended, leading to 673 more deaths within just a week.
Unclear Civilian and Combatant Casualties
The Gaza Health Ministry has not provided a breakdown of how many of the deceased were civilians versus militants. However, Israel claims that nearly 20,000 of the dead were Hamas militants involved in combat.
Israel Resumes Strikes on Southern Gaza
Following the collapse of the ceasefire, Israel has intensified its attacks, particularly targeting southern Gaza.
In a Saturday night airstrike, at least 26 people lost their lives, including women, children, and a senior Hamas political leader.
Mass Displacement in Rafah
As Israeli forces advance, they have issued evacuation orders for Rafah, a city near the Egyptian border.
In response, thousands of Palestinian families have been seen fleeing, carrying their belongings through dust-covered roads, seeking safety in an increasingly dire humanitarian crisis.
